Slovenian Primoz Roglic, second ranked in the past Tour de France, won this Sunday in the 106th edition of the classic Liege-Bastoña-Liège.

Roglic surpassed the four runners on the sprint with whom he reached the final stretch and among which were the new world champion, the French Julian Alaphilippe, who came to celebrate the victoria, and the also Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, winner of the ‘Grande Boucle’.

Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quich Step) launched the final attack on the escapees sprint and he raised his arms as a winner, but without realizing that Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), on his right, had surpassed him by millimeters in a final that required the arrival photo.

Swiss Marc Hirschi (Sunweb) was third and Tour champion Tadej Pogacar (United Arab Emirates), fourth, while another Slovenian, Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-McLaren), was fifth after reaching the leading group down the stretch.
