The artists Rocío Arévalo and Ana Beltrá give two free workshops at the headquarters of the Plastic Arts Center of the Council of Culture of the Cabildo Gran Canaria during this month, both included in the March-Woman program. The first, Interior Landscape, Self-Portrait and Watercolor, will be directed by Arévalo on March 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., while the one coordinated by Beltrá, Imagine a garden, will take place on March 15, 18, 24 and 30.
While Ana Beltrá’s workshop will be through a blended modality, on the Zoom platform, Rocío Arévalo’s will be online, also through Zoom, Instagram (contact with the teacher, tutoring and monitoring) and Pinterest (didactic material) .
In the workshop Interior Landscape, Self-Portrait and Watercolor by Rocío Arévalo will be creatively experimented in four sessions with self-image. For this, the creator will provide the participants with the necessary resources and exercises with which they will be able to create their own symbolic language to develop an idea. “They will learn to sketch with different techniques and reach the final project where they will be able to make a watercolor illustration that represents them beyond the physical,” he says.
In the workshop directed by Beltrá, Imagine a garden, the creator will reflect on the relationship with nature, with the presence of green spaces that inhabit our city and the slight environmental requirement that our cities order today. “I want to address the collective imagination to propose possible scenarios, to achieve a more harmonious and tangible coexistence between nature and citizens”, emphasizes Beltrá.
The workshop, which consists of four sessions, is translated into “field work”, research and analysis of our closest environment to build a new and fresh story about the coexistence between plants and people.
