The Teldense team falls by the minimum (20-19) in European lands and will have to win in Gran Canaria
The Teldenses and the Ukrainians put together a very even match that was defined with a goal from seven meters to
very few seconds left (20-19). Now Robert Cuesta's girls have to go home to prepare for that return match in which the Antonio Moreno Pavilion has to be a cauldron.
A result that can be very valuable. Rocasa Gran Canaria fell to HC Galychanka in the first leg of the semifinals of the
EHF European Cup.
In a very even match, a goal by Tetiana Poliak a few seconds from the end gave the Ukrainian team the victory from 7 meters. Even so, there is still the second leg and, with this result, the tie remains very open. The end is there.
The first minutes of the game were marked by equality. Rocasa and Galychanka scored at the start, but the Ukrainians took advantage of a good 4-0 run to mark the first considerable distance in the electronic (5-2). That forced the Teldenses to row against relatively soon, something that affected the good defense of Vitaly's girls
Andronov and Viktoriia Saltaniuk's success under the sticks. Those of Robert Cuesta had to respond to recover now.
A goal from María Gomes put Rocasa ahead after many minutes of paddling. It was time to push, although Galychanka also played their cards and did not allow any escape. That way,
equality was once again the owner of the situation and the Ukrainian team went ahead in the light. From then on, neither of the two teams was able to score more and the break appeared without dominance for anyone. Of course, Rocasa came out ahead despite their irregularity (12-11).
Upon returning from the locker room, Galychanka hit with a very quick goal that gave them another advantage. However,
Pizzo from 7 meters and Arinegua Pérez from the left wing helped Rocasa to recover ground (13-13). The numerical inferiority took its toll on the Ukrainians. In spite of everything, it was impossible at the moment for either of the two contenders to achieve a considerable income.
The island team got ahead on the scoreboard
The tension was noticeable, although this was only the first plate of a tie that still had the return leg in Telde. However, any advantage was good to be able to take a step forward.
After a timeout by Robert Cuesta, María Gomes put Rocasa ahead with less than 8 minutes to go. Alba Spugnini seconded her partner and the Teldenses entered the decisive stretch with their maximum advantage of the entire match, ready not to lose sight of her (16-18).
Silvia Navarro was also key at that moment with great saves and rounded off the best island moment of the match. Even Ana Palomino was sweet when she went out for a 7 meter stop. It seemed that Rocasa had it in her hand, but Galychanka was not going to lower her arms and
the script completely changed. A 3-0 run turned the scoreboard around in an open and close your eyes. A few seconds from the end Tetiana Poliak scored a final shot from 7 meters.

For this reason, Rocasa Gran Canaria ended up losing to the Ukrainians despite the fact that the result is quite positive and can be overcome.
Now it's time to pack up again and think about next weekend's game in an Antonio Moreno who will be bursting to try to take the Teldenses to a new final. What got away today may soon become joy (20-19).
