Rivera gives support to presidents of communities affected by the cold drop

The leader of Citizens, Albert Rivera, today transferred his support to the four presidents of the autonomous communities affected by the cold drop, to whom he has assured that his party supports declaring catastrophic areas the areas "severely affected" by the storm .

Rivera has spoken by telephone with the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Manuel Moreno, with Murcia, Fernando López Miras, with the president of the Valencian Community, Ximo Puig, and with Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García- Page, as explained by sources of the orange formation.

He has also talked with the vice president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juan Marín, and with the vice president of the Region of Murcia, Isabel Franco, both of Citizens.

In addition to expressing their "support" to the consequences of the storm, which has already caused four deaths, major damage and significant material damage, Albert Rivera has committed himself to all of them to support the declaration of catastrophic zone of the enclaves affected by the cold drop .

In this sense, the parliamentary group of Citizens in Congress has presented a non-law proposal in favor of this declaration to mitigate the effects of the Depression Isolated on High Levels (DANA).

"This episode of cold drop can be catastrophic for the lives of many citizens if the necessary measures are not taken," says the group in the statement of reasons for its initiative.

He affirms that this is necessary to "tackle the dangers produced by it" and to "mitigate the damage caused by its passage through the peninsular territory and the Balearic Islands"

And he adds: "It is the duty of all the governments involved to take responsibility in order to meet these two objectives."

In addition to urging the Government to declare a catastrophic zone, the proposal asks you to take "all necessary measures to compensate for damages to people and property" in areas that have been decreed as affected by a Civil Protection emergency.

And it asks for a "coordination work" with the Public Administrations to cooperate "both in the prevention of future damages and in the mitigation of the effects of the DANA that is affecting many Spanish provinces and municipalities."
