Rescued 27 immigrants from two boats on the coast of Granada



Members of the Maritime Service of the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue have rescued this morning in the vicinity of the coast of Granada 27 people of Maghrebi origin who traveled in two boats.

As reported by Efe sources of the Civil Guard, the first boat was occupied by 21 people, all men and adults, and was sighted around one in the morning by the cameras of the Integral Service of Outer Vigilance (SIVE) .

The vessel was intercepted at 0320 hours two miles from the beach of Salobreña by a Maritime Service patrol vessel after a chase, as the occupants did not want to stop.

The immigrants were taken to the port of Motril, where they arrived after 4.00 hours and where they were served by the Red Cross.

The second boat, which was intercepted south of Motril by Maritime Rescue, was occupied by six Maghrebis, including two possible minors.

The 27 people have made themselves available to the National Police in the temporary care center for immigrants that they have in the port of Motril and where they will remain for the next few days.
