The Department of Aerial Accident Investigation in the United Kingdom has recovered a body from the remains of the plane in which the Argentine footballer Emiliano Sala was traveling.
On Sunday, a private search team found the plane submerged in the English Channel, 67 meters below sea level and north of the island of Guernsey, between England and France.
Among the images that were taken from the fuselage of the plane, a body was found, still unidentified, that has been recovered by the AAIB in the "most dignified way possible," the organization confirmed.
"In complicated conditions, the AAIB and fellow specialists have successfully recovered the body seen in the rubble, the operation has been carried out in the most dignified manner possible and the family has been informed during the process," the body said in a statement. .
The body has been moved to Portland, England, while it has not been possible to recover the plane due to harsh weather conditions.
The AAIB also assured that they hope to publish an update of the incident in the next month.
