Renfe cancels 320 trains for the strike that starts this midnight

The strike called by the trade union CC.OO. in the Renfe group, which starts at midnight this Sunday and will continue until 11 pm on Monday, July 15, has forced the railway operator to suspend the circulation of 320 passenger trains of the 990 planned. The union organization has called for seconding the staff of the Renfe group (operator, travelers, merchandise, manufacturing and maintenance and rent) to demand more employment, less work and a salary consolidation.

The minimum services set by the Ministry of Public Works guarantee the circulation of 72% of the usual trains of the AVE and long distance, which will roll 280 of the 387 affected by the protest and 107 are deleted.

In the middle distance, 213 trains will be canceled and 390 of the 603 affected by the strike will be normal, representing 65% of the usual services.

Renfe will offer passengers affected by this removal, whenever possible, travel on another train at the most approximate time of purchase, while those customers who do not wish to do so may cancel or change their ticket for another date without any cost in all the sales channels of the operator.

In merchandise, 187 trains are suppressed and 63 out of a total of 250 will circulate, representing 25% of the usual services.

In the vicinity, depending on the cores, lines and time slots, a percentage is established between a maximum of 75%, during peak hours, and 50% of the usual service for the rest of the day.
