Renfe achieved a new daily record of travelers with its High Speed and Long Distance service when exceeding the level of 130,000 passengers transported in a single day in this type of trains.
This level was exceeded on October 11, day of 'operation exit' of the Bridge of El Pilar, in which AVE and Long Distance trains They transported 130,145 travelers, according to sources of the operator.
Of this total of passengers, some 82,000 passengers moved during that day on AVE trains and the remaining 48,000 opted for the Alvia and Altaria, those that circulate part of their route through high-speed lines.
The new maximum marked this past bridge underpins the railway company on its way to achieving an annual record number of travelers at the end of 2018, above the 32.9 million passengers accounted for in 2017.
The daily record takes place after that achieved in the summer campaign, in the months of July and August, when Renfe transported 6.02 million passengers on its AVE and Long Distance trains, a volume that also represents a 3.6% increase Over the previous year.
