Singer René Pérez, artistically known as Resident, appealed Thursday to the unity of the people of Puerto Rico against the current Government led by Wanda Vázquez, against which he called a demonstration to demand his resignation for the management of the earthquake crisis.
“A single flag. Puerto Rico will remain united, the demonstration gives us the strength, that of the people,” said the artist, during a speech in front of La Fortaleza, the headquarters of the Executive in San Juan where a march against the Government concluded .
“Not everything could have been destroyed – the Government-,” said Residente, who along with the US San Luis Cardinals baseball player Yadier Molina were the summoners of a march before the Executive headquarters to ask Wanda Vázquez to leave the charge for which they understand a negligent management of the earthquake crisis.
Molina also took the floor to point out that “there is no party here and there is nothing”, since as he said “it is Puerto Rico united. Enough of the government hitting us, we are tired.”
The demonstration was lackluster for a day in San Juan in which rain rivers fell on the demonstrators who, nevertheless, maintained the type before the inclement weather that came to them.
The organizers accuse the two government leaders of mismanagement in the earthquake crisis and of knowing about the existence of supplies that were not distributed among the victims.
Vázquez and Rivera Schatz ask for responsibility for the discovery of a grocery store located in the city of Ponce, whose resources, it is not well known why, were not used to assist the nearly 4,000 victims of the earthquakes that shook the earthquake. Island since last December 28.
Today’s demonstration did not record scenes of violence, although the police device will remain until the last protesters leave the area.
