Reduced rotations in the Strait due to the failure of a passenger ship

The rotations in the maritime line of the Strait of Gibraltar between the ports of Ceuta and Algeciras (Cádiz) remain low since yesterday's day before the temporary withdrawal of one of the high-speed vessels that provide the service between both banks.

Port sources have explained to Efe that the ship "Avemar Dos" of the shipping company Balearia has not been able to carry out its usual services since yesterday, leaving five outings from both ports.

The high-speed ship had to return to the port of Algeciras on Thursday after having suffered a technical failure on its way to Ceuta, while yesterday it had to be removed due to the breaking of the ship's ramp.

This situation has caused the Balearia shipping company to only keep the conventional ferry "Passió per Formentera" in service, which takes half an hour to make the crossing between the two sides of the Strait.

The shipping company has not reported when the vessel will be reincorporated.
