Spanish Red Cross in the Canary Islands will distribute 988,375 kilos of food to 37,846 beneficiaries and will work with 91 participating entities, among 22 local, county and island assemblies of the social organization and 60 municipalities and other NGOs of the Islands.
In the province of Santa Cruz of Tenerife426,088 kilos of food will be distributed to 16,300 vulnerable people, with the following distribution: 311,066 kilos to 12,550 people on the island of Tenerife; 89,468 Kilos. 3,038 people on La Palma; in El Hierro 17,046 kilos to 459 people and 8,506 kilos to 253 people in La Gomera, reports the Red Cross in a statement.
While, in the province of Las PalmasIt is expected to distribute 562,286 kilos of food that will reach 21,546 people, of which 293,291 kilos will be delivered to 10,037 people on the island of Gran Canaria; 17,664 kilos will be distributed to 829 vulnerable people in Fuerteventura; and 251,329 kilos among 10,680 people in Lanzarote.
Food distribution is carried out by the Spanish Red Cross and the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (FESBAL), 50% each organization.
