Basketball Real Madrid already has its first signing for next season. The Chamartín club announced this Thursday the signing of Dzanan Musa. The Bosnian forward, the last MVP of the Endesa League, signs until June 30, 2024 and will reinforce the perimeter of the current champion of the regularity tournament, which Chus Mateo will direct next year.

With a past in the NBA, where he played 49 games in the ranks of the Brooklyn Nets spread over two seasons, Musa consecrated himself during the last season defending the elastic of the Breogán River, which he led in his return to the elite of Spanish basketball with some averages of 20.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.1 steals and a PIR of 23.1. Figures that helped him become the top scorer in the competition and that catapulted him to the MVP of the regular season.

Born on May 8, 1999 in Bihac (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Musa began his professional career at the age of 15 with Cedevita Zagreb and at 16 and 5 months he was already playing in the Euroleague. He was three times League champion, another three in the Cup and one in the Adriatic Super Cup with the Balkan team. His brilliant appearance attracted the eyes of the Brooklyn Nets, who chose him in the 29th position of the NBA draft. But the enormous competition existing in the New York franchise prevented him from settling in the best basketball competition on the planet, so in January 2021 he chose to return to Europe to join Anadolu Efes, with which he won the 2021 Euroleague and the Turkish league. At the end of that season he signed for the Breogán River, where he has finished exploiting.

El Chacho and Hezonja, the following

A 2.05-meter forward who has spectacular scoring ability and great technical resources, Musa registered a 56.1% success rate in two-point shots and 38.1% in three-pointers during his first season in the Endesa League, and he starred in the two best individual performances of last season, with a PIR of 47 and 44. Figures that made him the object of desire of some of the great teams on the continent, although in the end it was Real Madrid that took the cat to the water.

The Whites, still convulsed by the dismissal of Pablo Laso due to the Vitorian's heart problems, face a new stage in which Musa is called to play a prominent role. His is the first of a list of signings already tied in which the names of the Spanish base Sergio Rodríguez and the Croatian forward Mario Hezonja also appear. Aside from these figures, Real Madrid is still looking for a power forward with a good shot from outside to make up for the blemish of Trey Thompkins and the loss due to a long-term injury to Anthony Randolph. The French Petr Cornelie, one of the stars of the G-League, is the best placed. Although the jewel in the crown would be a hypothetical return of the Argentine Facundo Campazzo, whose future in the NBA remains unclear.
