A strong thunderstorm has forced the cancellation of the third free practice sessions scheduled for today at the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas. It rained heavily on Austin and the safety protocol that is activated in the United States when there is an electrical storm prevented the bikes from rolling during the Texas morning. At this moment it is pouring into the circuit and the possibility that the classification sessions can not be disputed is real.
If they could not compete, the grills this Sunday would be set with the times of Friday and, in MotoGP, the poleman would be Maverick Viñales, the fastest on the first day. This would prevent what would have been the sixth pole position of Márquez, in a circuit where he has always won.
