Nadal, who on Wednesday had to play against the South African Lloyd Harris, his executioner last week in the Washington tournament, will be replaced by the Spanish Feliciano López. The Mallorcan player explained that his foot “is not ready” and that although he has tried everything because he likes the Canadian tournament, he was forced to leave the competition.
Meanwhile, the Malaga Davidovich, 34th in the world, was eliminated by the American John isner, the world number 30, who defeated him in two sets, 6-4 and 6-1. The American will face in the next round the French Cristian Garin, the 20th world.
