Prices grow 3.8% in China in October, the biggest increase since 2012

China's consumer price index (CPI), the main indicator of inflation, increased by 3.8% year-on-year in October, eight tenths more than in the previous month, the biggest increase since January 2012.

The National Statistical Office (ONE) published the data today, as well as the production price index (IPP), which measures wholesale inflation and which continued downward by 1.6%, an even more pronounced decline than the one registered in September, when 1.2% fell.
