The Technological Research Unit of the National Police is analyzing the origin of the hacks suffered by Twitter accounts of several municipalities, which in the case of the Albacete and Pamplona include threats to their mayors.
Regardless of the complaints filed, police sources point to Efe, all similar incidents that have been registered before their similarity are being investigated.
The first hacking that transcended was that of the Twitter account of the Valencia City Council, on Monday. The message "This account has been hacked by corruption" appeared on that profile for about three hours.
After retaking control of the account, the town hall reported that it had suffered a cyber attack and that identity theft had been reported to the State security forces and bodies.
Tuesday the accounts of the municipalities of Pamplona and Albacete were attacked.
In the first case the hackers posted messages with insults and even death threats to the mayor, Enrique Maya, of Navarra Suma, and two hours later on the Twitter account of the town hall of Albacete a photo of the first mayor, Vidente Casañ appeared , of Citizens, with the message: "I give you 1 month and, if you do not change this city, you will see how I leave your family."
