The new season of the municipal program District Culture premieres this Thursday, April 11, at 8:00 pm, on the stage of the Initiatives Center of La Caja de Canarias (Cicca), in the Alameda de Colón, 1, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Poets in the trench, a show of 2RC Theater that rescues poems written in the period of the Civil War that will come alive through the living word of the actresses and actors. With a careful staging and under the direction of Rafael Rodríguez, they will be accompanied by live music. A sensitive and emotional show based on the strength of the word and ideas.
Poets in the trench It honors and rescues, from a theatrical concept, poems written during the war and that served to reflect the situation and the emotional state of a people struggling in a fratricidal Civil War and against a usurping power of democracy and freedoms.
Voices of poets and poetesses that come to life through the words of actresses Guacimara Correa Y Saray Castro and the actor Tony Báez that shed the nuances of each verse and each idea.
The texts-poems, selected by Carlos Álvarez, will be accompanied by the projection of cinematographic images and the sounds of the time as popular songs that still survive in the collective memory. This sound environment will be developed by four musicians led by the cellist Dávide Payser.
