Perfumerías Avenida won its ninth Endesa Super Cup this Sunday after confirm their favoritism against Lointek Gernika Bizkaia and prevail by a clear 50-66 in the final played at the Bilbao Arena, which was broken in favor of the Salamanca team after the break.
Roberto Íñiguez’s team found resistance in the hosts, ready to give their all to lift the title, but after standing up in the first two quarters, they fell apart little by little before the greater amount of resources of his rival that only allowed 19 points in the resumption.
Lointek tried and at times came to dominate the scoreboard, but its advantages were never excessively scary for Perfumerías Avenida in a game locked from his first quarter (15-15). Those of Mario López continued to show their face in the second, and only a final arreón from the Salamanca team allowed them to go to the changing rooms with a minimal advantage (31-32).
And the script changed after the break. Perfumerías squeezed and endorsed Lointek a severe 0-13 partial, which shot the gap on the scoreboard already considerably (31-45). The Basque team, already with less energy, was not able to approach in an intimidating way and their rival raised their ninth Super Cup champion trophy without excessive problems.
The best player of the Castilian team, who overwhelmed under the boards (40-26), was the Bosnian Nikolina Milic, author of a great ‘double-double’ with 20 points (10/17 shooting) and 16 rebounds, for a PIR of 30.
