The telephone company Pepephone, part of the MásMóvil group, has mistakenly charged the February invoice twice to "a few" thousands of users, the equivalent of just under 5% of the company's customers, according to sources close to the company.
The telecommunications company has held responsibility on Twitter to the bank in charge of the collection process, and has stated that the problem "is already resolved" and that the refund of the duplicate invoice will be made between this Thursday and next Friday.
The company has also announced on the same social network that affected users will have 5GB free to surf the Internet this month.
In addition, Pepephone has requested that the invoices be not returned to facilitate the process.
The operator became part of the MásMóvil group in 2016 for 158 million euros.
Pepephone offers mobile data services, fiber optics and calls.
