Pedro Sánchez rescues Francisco Polo as High Commissioner for Spain Entrepreneurial Nation

Until a few days ago Secretary of State for Digital Advance in the Ministry of Economy, Francisco Polo, will be responsible for a newly created office, the High Commissioner for Spain Entrepreneurial Nation, as El Confidencial has advanced and confirmed Polo himself in your twitter account.

“Spain must be the next entrepreneurial nation. We must promote and connect all the actors in our economy (emerging companies, industry, SMEs, universities, public and private institutions, etc.) ”, said Polo in that social network when confirming the appointment in his new position, in which It will depend directly on Moncloa.

The current deputy for Barcelona thus returns to the Government, which came out with the restructuring of the Ministry of Economy, for which the third vice president, Nadia Calviño, chose to maintain three secretariats of State (Economy and Support to the Company, Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence and Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures) and dispense with what until then occupied Polo, with which, according to various sources, did not have a good relationship.

Born in Valencia in 1981, Polo is a member of the Federal Executive Commission of the PSOE as secretary of the Entrepreneurship, Science and Innovation Area. Prior to his arrival at the Secretary of State, he was known for being the founder of the successful ‘Actuable’ petition platform in 2010, which was subsequently merged in 2011 with ‘Change.org’, of which he was director until 2017.

During his time at the head of the Secretary of State for Digital Advancement, the new High Commissioner had among its main banners the launch of digital transformation measures and support for startups for the achievement of the ‘Spain Nation Entrepreneurship’ objective.

As high commissioner, Polo will depend directly on Moncloa and will be in coordination with ministerial departments such as the new Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, which will be led by Carme Artigas.
