Next Friday, January 11, 2019, the exhibition "Road to Cyprus – The challenge of space" is inaugurated in the well-known Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Area of El Corte Inglés in Alicante, which can be visited until January 24 in the schedule of said center, with free and free entry.
This exhibition gathers the works of the winners of the 2017/2018 School Peace and Cooperation Prize in collaboration with UNOOSA (United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs): "Galaxy of Peace-Space, common heritage of humanity" which It has motivated great creativity in students from many countries such as Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Cyprus, Spain, Latvia and Mexico.
Previously these works were exhibited in the Cultural Area of El Corte Inglés in Zaragoza from December 3 to 31, 2018. Simultaneously a selection of works of the same edition of the School Award was exhibited at the Embassy of Algeria in Madrid from 11 to 21 of December 2018.
The qualifying jury was chaired by Mrs. Carmen de Alvear, accompanied by an international jury composed of ambassadors, diplomatic officials and authorities of Spanish culture. In this edition the selection of works was carried out in the Rioja Center of Madrid on October 24, 2018, United Nations Day.
The awards ceremony took place in the city of Pafos (Cyprus) on December 5, 2018, where the winners of Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Cyprus and Latvia were present.
On January 30, 2019, «School Day for Non-Violence and Peace», prizes and diplomas will be handed out to those who could not pick them up in Cyprus, at the Caude de Majadahonda School (Madrid). In an act dedicated to the Culture of La Paz in the presence of the ambassador of India. Mr. Sanjay Verma, whose predecessor, Hon. Mr. Venkatesh Varma, presided over the ceremony the previous year.
