Paul MCCARTNEY, the former member of the Beatles, has decided to settle once and for all one of the most recurrent controversies in the history of the music, ensuring that the person responsible for the dissolution of the Liverpool quartet was John Lennon.
In an interview with the BBC Radio 4 program ‘This Cultural Life’, the singer was asked about his role in the band’s separation, to which he angrily replied: I was not the one who caused the separation“.
“John walked into the room one day and said, ‘I’m leaving the Beatles’“, the artist explained before rhetorically asking the interviewer:” Is that causing the separation or not? “.
McCartney has also pointed out that, if it had been up to him, he would rather have moved on with the band, since, in his opinion, “we were still doing pretty good things.” Lennon legally formalized his discharge from training during the Christmas 1974, when he was at the Disney World hotel.
Some sources have pointed out that the dissolution of the Beatles was a consequence of the members of the band, and especially McCartney, not accepting Lennon’s partner, Yoko Ono, who accompanied the composer of ‘Imagine‘in all his actions and public interventions.
