Paris cancels the celebration of the Chinese New Year for the coronavirus

The celebration this Sunday of the Chinese New Year has been canceled in Paris, where two of the three patients affected in France by the coronavirus are hospitalized, announced today the Parisian mayor, Anne Hidalgo.

Hidalgo said on the station “Europe 1” that it was the Chinese community in the city that wanted to cancel the parade scheduled for the afternoon in the central square of the Republic.

“Do not panic, but be aware. And respect the decision of the Chinese associations in Paris,” added the governor, who with that measure adds to the one taken this Saturday by Bordeaux (southwest), where the Third hospitalized.

France has registered these three confirmed cases of coronavirus and the three patients had recently traveled to China.

The French health authorities decided to install a medical equipment from Paris de Charles de Gaulle airport as of Sunday to attend to those affected by the arrival of direct flights from China.

The National Health Commission of China reported on Sunday that at least 56 people have died among the 1,975 infected diagnosed in the Asian country, 324 of whom remain in serious condition.
