Open Arms rescues more than 200 immigrants in the Central Mediterranean

The Spanish NGO Proactica Open Armas today rescued more than 200 immigrants who were on two boats in the Central Mediterranean, reported on their Twitter account.

"Just 24 hours after our arrival in the Mediterranean, OpenArms has just rescued two boats in danger of sinking at sea, more than 200 people, men, pregnant women, children, babies, and in the Mediterranean there is no Christmas," they write.

The NGO boat sailed from Barcelona a few days ago to return to the Central Mediterranean in accordance with an alliance with other organizations to save lives again despite the fact that the Italian Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini, has affirmed on numerous occasions that he will not allow to disembark to immigrants in the ports of their country.

Now again the problem will arise for the NGO of where to disembark the 200 immigrants, since Salvini will not be willing to authorize the arrival of the ship to Italy.
