The Secretary of State for Migration, Isabel Castro, has announced that almost one year after the entry into force of the reform of the Immigration Regulations to speed up the granting of residence and work permits to unaccompanied foreign minors and immigrants former guardians, the objective has been met and 15,000 young people have been able to benefit.

«The first reform of the regulation was aimed at giving a hope for the future to minors and young people who were ex-guardians. I can say with satisfaction that the intended objective has been met: reaching 15,000 young people -
8,000 minors under the guardianship of the communities and 7,000 former guardians- with a work and residence permit, and today I can say that we have reached that figure", Castro congratulated himself.

A reform that, he assured, "will remain and will continue to be a tool" so that thousands of young people "have a way of regularly joining the labor market and that they do not remain on the margins of the system doomed to a competition war."
