According to the study carried out by the SiteMinder platform, the contribution made by bookings through hotel websites to total total internet sales has grown from 8% to 33% in the last decade. «Direct bookings made through the hotels' own websites show great potential», explains Marco Rosso, regional director of SiteMunder in Spain.

Rosso himself notes that "last year 84.5 million trips were made to Spain; 47% more than 10 years ago. Hotel sales through the Internet were almost 231,000 million euros, which represented an increase of 13% compared to 2017 and 170% in the last decade.
