Odebrecht is disqualified in Colombia and fined with 251 million dollars

The Administrative Court of Cundinamarca today fined the Brazilian construction company Odebrecht with 800,000 million pesos (about 251 million dollars) and disqualified it for 10 years to enter into contracts with official entities as a consequence of the acts of corruption in which it was involved in Colombia.

With this decision the court accepted the request made by the attorney general, Fernando Carrillo, to "protect administrative morality and the defense of public property" against Odebrecht.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the construction company paid bribes in Colombia for 84,000 million pesos (about 28.35 million dollars) to obtain the contract for the Ruta del Sol II highway.
