Occupational accidents fall by 17.29% in the Canary Islands until May – La Provincia

For its part, during the first five months of this year, the incidence fell in all economic sectors, especially in Services, where it fell by 22%, but also in Agriculture (-4.71%), Industry (- 2.52%) and Construction (-7.10%).

In absolute numbers, during this period, 9,668 work-related accidents with workday leave were reported in the Canary Islands, of which the vast majority, 9,568 were minor, 91 were serious and 9 were fatal.

In addition, 12,698 work accidents were reported without loss, 7.33% less than in the same period of 2018, and on the way to or from work, accidentsIn Itinere, a total of 1,334 accidents were reported, of which 1,313 were minor, 16 serious and 5 fatal accidents.
