No woman is born for a whore | Society

No woman is born for a whore | Society

He told El Músico, a condemned exproxene and convicted of coercive prostitution and trafficking in persons, ideologist of trafficking in Spain and ex-owner of more than a dozen of the most important brothels that adorn our geography, how, when he first heard in an informative a Spanish politician talk about the legalization of prostitution with the intention of ending the mafias and improve the social rights of prostitutes, he laughed, laughter even laughter.

This man did not believe what he had heard. That politician in a suit and tie wanted exactly the same as them or, better said, that his ex-partners, some illiterate, pimps, traffickers and pimps (he was already retired after leaving prison).

It was not possible that it was the same that they sold already in 2001 when they created ANELA, the employer's association of pimping, with the objective of washing, spinning and ironing the image of prostitution; but, above all, legalize it. For what? Among other reasons (always economic), so that in case of a raid by the police they will not take their women from the flats or brothels. Police detain undocumented women, undocumented women. Therefore, what suits criminals? That women are legalized so that they do not ask them questions either.

End the mafias? If it was precisely the mafias, that is, they themselves, who wanted to legalize prostitution, precisely in order to be able to campaign at their ease as they do today their compadres in Belgium, Holland or Germany, where many of their young puppies, to which they they had taught the trade, they had already set up brothels, but not because they did badly in Spain, but because the regulationist legislation benefited them and made it much easier to attract women abroad and then implant them in flat-rate macroburdens.

Right at the current time they are the pimps and their economic interests, the protagonists of the prostitution debate, yes, always managing the threads from the back of the business. And, while it is true that ANELA lost all its power when it was shown that in the partner's brothels there were even minors, again others and others come to take the witness and, as happened in 2001, they have been point of convincing part of the citizenship, that which is branded as transgressive and modern in the name of freedom, that women want to be whores, that we are free to choose the "oldest" profession in the world and that we are even delighted to exercise it, especially when there is no alternative, when that "freedom" is conditioned by precariousness, poverty, and social and legal exclusion …

Once again it has been tried to whitewash the oldest form of oppression, abuse, exploitation and violence against women. Prostitution, moreover, is the ultimate expression of inequality.
