Unlike yesterday in the Giant, today's slalom race in Adelboden took place under a continuous snowfall, but the protagonist was again Marcel Hirscher who won his 67th World Cup victory. The French Clément Noel and the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen completed the podium.
As in the last slalom held in Zagreb, Marco Schwarz achieved the best time in the first heat but he could not complete the second round which made him lose the podium. Who did not fail was Marcel Hirscher which allowed him to celebrate his ninth victory and his podium number 16 in Adelboden, an absolute record among skiers of the World Cup.
But other skiers saw a great opportunity in today's test and Clément Noel was one of them. The French skier, with two fourth places in the World Cup and a sensational fourth place in the PyeongChang Olympic Winter Games, confirms his status as an emerging figure and got his first podium in the World Cup, finishing in second place in today's test in Adelboden.
In second place after the first race, Henrik Kristoffersen managed to stay on the podium despite an error at the top and occupying the third position in today's race. It is his fifth slalom podium in the Chuenisbärgli. But the Norwegian star is eager to find the top spot on the podium again. His last victory was in the slalom in Kitzbuehel, a year ago.
