Netflix announces a Cuphead animation series

Netflix has announced a new animated series about the video game
. King Features Syndicate – the largest distributor of comics, columns, puzzles and games in the world that represents such iconic series as Popeye or Betty Boop – will be the company in charge of this adaptation to television.

The brothers Moldenhauer, Chad and Jared, are the most responsible for the Canadian study Studio MDHR, the company behind the development of Cuphead. In this production of Netflix both will be executive producers and they will supervise all the content.

The American giant has confirmed that the Cuphead series will respect the aesthetics of the videogame, which is inspired by the cartoon of the 30s as, for example, those already mentioned Popeye Y Betty Boop. Following the same line as the game, the series will count the misadventures of the Cuphead and Mugman brothers.

Cuphead has sold more than four million copies worldwide and can be played at Xbox One, PC and – since April of this year – in
Nintendo Switch
. The video game that inspired the series was a great success among the players and won several awards during 2017. They emphasize the complex and difficult gameplay and the aesthetic section, animated by hand, which emulates the series of the interwar period.

Netflix has not yet announced the release date official of the series.
