The Mallorcan tennis player Rafa Nadal has donated one million euros for flood victims in the Llevant de Mallorca, which affected especially the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar on October 9.
"It's a help from a special person for all of us, whoshows each day his love for our land and its neighbors. He always shows it where he is and proves it in all aspects because he is one of us ", said the mayor of Sant Llorenç, Mateu Puigròs, when he announced the news of the donation.
"We know of his immense affection and humanity that is as great as his talent and his results, we have seen this on and off the tennis courts," added the mayor, thanking Rafael Nadal donation of one million euros for those affected by the flood that cost the lives of 13 people. So far 1.6 million have been collected in the municipality, to which the generous donation of the Manacori tennis player is now added.
Nadal collaborated with the tasks of cleaning the town days after the floods. His action became an image that went around the world.
