The official bulletin of the Region of Murcia publishes this Monday the Order of the Ministry of Health declaring the making available to the regional health authority of hotels, although it does not include the order to close all non-essential economic activity signed yesterday by the president, Fernando López Miras.
The decision was approved this Sunday by the extraordinary Governing Council, one of whose members, the Minister of Public Works, José Ramón Díez de Revenga (PP), has published a message on the social network Twitter in which he assured that this order ” closure “would take effect as soon as it was published in the official gazette.
“Now the Ministry of Health will have to ratify or cancel it, taking responsibility from that moment for any consequence that this entails,” warned Díez de Revenga.
López Miras’ announcement was answered by the Ministry of Health, recalling that this type of decision is the sole responsibility of the minister responsible for that portfolio, Salvador Illa, the competent authority on the matter.
The Murcian president explained that the decision is legally based on the second paragraph of article 4.3 of the royal decree of the State of Alarm that allows the autonomous communities to urge the competent ministry certain actions and in this case they will send the autonomous order to the Health Ministry for ratification. and authorize its execution.
The closure would not affect sectors such as freight transport, food, pharmacies, and the agri-food or energy industries. Gas stations, insurers and banks, post offices and the media are also considered essential services; as well as the activity of the primary sector.
“I demand that it be executed by the competent authority or, where appropriate, ratified so that the Autonomous Community can execute it,” he explained.
“The economy can recover, but not a lost life,” said López Miras, who said that the decision “obeys a single argument, that of not endangering the thousands and thousands of people who leave their homes every morning and to those who, in their different occupations, find it impossible to maintain minimum security measures ”.
