The Monopol Music Festival (MMF) continues to complete its concert program announcing two new projects, Mucho and Alice Wonder, which add to Nacho Vegas, first confirmed artist. The MMF program is part of the contents of the International Film Festival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, which will be held between the next 22 and 31 March. Alice Wonder will be the guest artist on the night of Friday, March 29 in The Paper Club (Calle Remedios 10 – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) next to Nacho Vegas, a concert scheduled for 22:00 hours. Tickets, at € 20 in advance (€ 25 at the box office), are now on sale at monopolmusicfestival.com website and at playhit.es. For its part, Much will be one of the bands that will close the live music of this edition in the traditional open-air concert of the Plaza Santa Ana, and that is set for the night of March 30.
Mucho, a project led by Martín Perarnau IV alone, will present his latest album, Gran Canaria, recently published and entitled Is there someone at home? (Kartoffel Kollektiv, 2019). A work that supposes a total turnaround to his career, since it emerges from musicians and instrumentation to tackle only a path that bets on the electronics of synthesizers and quasi-tons, to link, theme after theme, an almost conceptual work in music and that he confronts the lyric with issues that arise precisely from that decision to pursue his career without companionship: loneliness in a world in which we all have access to communication. A brave, risky work and heard from beginning to end becomes a kind of rave message. Much was formed? in 2010 and behind him he has three albums among which he stands out powerfully, asking at the gates of hell, prelude to this new work, battering his new songs, and which was also recorded using synthesizers and keyboards. From its beginnings, in those who practiced a manual pop / rock until today, there is a vital and artistic evolution that is reflected in Perarnau's way of singing. Throughout his career, Marti? Perarnau IV has collaborated with Iva? N Ferreiro, Tulsa, Egon Soda, Berri Txarrak and Zahara, for which he composed Hoy la bruia cena en casa.
Alice Wonder will accompany Nacho Vegas on the night of March 29 at The Paper Club. From her one could say that she is an Instagram artist, since she began to be known thanks to the numerous videos of versions that she posted on this social network, mostly short versions of artists like Bon Iver, Damien Rice or Lana del Rey, from just 15 seconds, and they reported a large number of followers. Overcome his shyness (or almost), published in 2017 his first EP entitled Take Off, a prelude to what would be his first big album, Firekid (Infarto Producciones / BMG, 2018) produced by Ángel Lujan with the collaboration of Jorge González, Vetusta keyboard player Morla This is a work in which the deep voice of Alice is put at the service of a sound in which the soul is interspersed with the alchemy of trip hop and the Indie of the 90s, with lyrics full of experiences and personal images in the that you can guess the different layers and subworlds that coexist inside Alice. An album that wanders between Portishead, Fiona Apple or Little Simz.
On the other hand, Nacho Vegas will be accompanied on his visit to the island, fifteen years after his only visit in October 2004, from his usual band, formed by three members of León Benavente, Abraham Boba (keyboards and guitar), Luis Rodríguez (bass) and Edu Baos (guitar); besides Manu Molina (drums) and Joseba Irazoki (guitar). The expedition is completed by César Verdú, also a member of León Benavente and who works as a sound technician on this tour. A group of musicians with whom he has been touring for a long time and who offer one of the best live shows of Spanish music.
