54.2 percent of Spaniards see young people as “second-rate citizens” regarding rights and with worse opportunities than their parents and grandparents, since they consider that the future for this group has become more difficult after the pandemic.

The Sociological Research Center (CIS) made public this Thursday the study “Childhood and youth in the face of the pandemic of covid-19“, with 2,064 interviews between June 25 and July 5, which highlights the increase in inequalities and problems faced by young people in Spain.

If before the pandemic almost half of the population thought that the new generations were going to live worse than their parents, that percentage rises to 73.2% and at the same time the data of those who predict that their future will improve collapses, falling from 28.9 percent before the coronavirus to 8.5%.
