More than 24,500 users have received advice at the Green Offices

During the first half of this year, the network of the Ministry of Ecological Transition has attended to more than 11,400 queries related to MOVES subsidies and self-consumption

The Green Offices of the Canary Islands (OVC), created by the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the regional government and developed by Gestur Canarias, have attended to the information demands of more than 25,000 people, companies and administrations during the first half of 2022.

Specifically, between January 1 and June 30 of this year, a total of 24,584 users have been advised, both in person and by telephone and via email.

The councilor responsible for the Area,
Jose Antonio Valbuenahighlights that among the consultations with the highest number of procedures carried out, those related to subsidies for the
purchase of electric vehicles (MOVES II and III) and the
aid for self-consumptionwith 11,406 users served by one of the open channels of communication.

Valbuena underlines the "important takeoff" that the Green Offices have had during this first part of the year -multiplying their activity practically by four compared to the entire year 2021- something that he explains by pointing out that "at this stage is when there has been
the start-up of the offices in La Gomera, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and El Hierrobut also when those in Tenerife, Gran Canaria and La Palma have been consolidated as local offices to respond to any matter related to the ecological transition and the fight against climate change in the Canary Islands».

Of the total number of procedures carried out by this network of offices, the total number of queries linked to the call for aid for the
self-consumption and storage (whose budget reaches 18 million euros) with a total of 5,164 communication actions carried out, of which 2,607 were calls, 2,467 emails and 72 face-to-face assistance.

With respect to
MOVESIII, to which more than 29 million euros are allocated to aid for the purchase of electric vehicles and recharging points, 4,861 communication actions were registered, of which 2,971 were calls, 1,824 emails and 66 face-to-face appointments, which together with the 1,381 queries linked to MOVES II add up to a total of 5,164.

Among the services provided by the Green Offices in the eight islands, the 2,147 communications framed within the expressions of interest for
business models and unique projectsthe 1,716 inquiries related to the subsidy for the rehabilitation of public buildings (PIREP) and the 1,043 actions carried out within the thematic area of ​​circular economy.

Added to this are the 164 actions linked to the execution of the
Building Energy Rehabilitation Program (PREE), which has a budget of just over ten million euros.

Also noteworthy is the number of queries that have been managed within the
DUS 5000 Program aid for investments in unique clean energy projects, with a total of 221 direct communications with the municipalities of the Canary Islands that could benefit from these subsidies.

Other aid of interest

Equally noteworthy is the information offered on the
energy efficiency grantsboth in public infrastructures and in companies and residential buildings and aimed at housing sustainability, totaling 2,430 advisory actions carried out both for individuals and for companies and administrations.

Other calls in which work has been carried out successfully are the
thermal renewable energies where attention has been given to 952 users, the 1,495 communications sent in the call for H2Pioneros and Renewable Hydrogen subsidies and the 931 linked to the European LIFE Funds, to which are added the 796 users attended within the framework of the call for the realization of energy efficiency actions in agricultural holdings.

Finally, other types of questions were also carried out, such as the 472 informative actions linked to the
Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energythe 305 communications issued regarding subsidies called by the Cabildo of Gran Canaria and La Palma, the 97 aimed at the creation of a Canarian Network of Environmental Volunteering, the 71 calls for research in National Parks and the 66 services provided within the framework of aid for the restoration of river ecosystems.

In addition, 35 actions related to the dissemination of the subsidy for volunteer programs in National Parks, 13 on the call for the improvement of supply and reduction of water losses, a dozen on the subsidy for Biosphere Reserves and two on Green Employment.

The Green Offices of the Canary Islands were created in November 2020 with the aim of providing a service to the citizens, companies, entities and public administrations of the eight islands so that they can access information on aid, subsidies, strategies in a personalized way. and all kinds of initiatives that can be accepted to take an active part in the ecological transition and the fight against climate change.
