The strike is called for tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
More than 2,200 temporary doctors from the Canary Islands are called to support the strike convened by the Union of Medical Employees of the Canary Islands (SEMCA) that will begin tomorrow, between 10:00 and 12:00, to protest the abuse of temporality and demand their participation in the
preparation of the lists of places that can be consolidated without having to pass an exam.
The strike will continue unless the Canarian Ministry of Health enables a participation channel at the last minute so that the
Confluence Table of Temporary Specialist Doctors and Physicians of the Canary Islands intervene in the negotiation of the extraordinary selective process foreseen in the
Law/20/2021of December 28, of urgent measures against temporary employment in public employment.
In addition, this group of temporary doctors affirms that the list of available places prepared by the Canary Health Service is much lower than that designed by the Confluence Table, reviewing "service by service and hospital by hospital in the archipelago."
"It is clear that
They do not have identified the places or the correct number that must be ready for each of the two selective processes of stabilization that the Law requires to be published, at the latest, on May 31, ”they indicate in a press release sent by the strike committee.
For its part, from the Ministry of Health,
opening a negotiation forum other than the legally established one is ruled out with the representatives of the workers to agree on these selective processes.
According to the strike committee, the strike, which could last for another two days with a date yet to be determined, could
intensify "if a direct and constructive dialogue is not established" with the Confluence Table of Temporary Specialist Doctors and Physicians of the Canary Islands.
