The Ministry of Development has decreed the minimum services to ensure the provision of essential services for passenger rail transport during the strike called next Friday by the Federal Rail Sector of the General Confederation of Labor (SFF-CGT) and on January 7 by CC OO in the Renfe Group that affects all the personnel of this group throughout the national territory. Of the minimum services fixed by the Promotion, those affecting the Cercanías de Cataluña and the passenger transport railway services on the Iberian gauge network of the railway network of general interest fully developed in Catalonia, which will be set by the competent bodies, are excepted. of the Generalitat.
For Cercanías trains, the department headed by José Luis Ábalos has established minimum services that range between 50% and 75% in rush hour. In medium-distance trains, Fomento has established a minimum service percentage of 65% compared to the usual and high-speed services and 78% long distance of the usual services. The application of these minimums will mean Renfe cancel 571 trains, about 30% of the usual offer that the railway company schedules for a similar day. Of the total cancellations planned for the case that the strike continues, 160 of them are AVE and long distance trains, and another 411 of medium distance (regional).
Renfe maintains negotiations with CC OO and CGT in order to avoid the mobilizations. The positions of company and unions remain "still far away", according to Europa Press have informed union sources that, however, have indicated their intention to continue until tomorrow with the negotiations that are carried out uninterruptedly since Monday.
Fomento recalled that stoppages have been convened in days of exceptional movement of travelers, coinciding the mobility of a working day with the beginning and, in the case of some autonomous communities, with the last day of the Christmas festivities.
