Mick Rock, the great glam and rock photographer of the 70s, dies

With a farewell note published on your website, his daughter remembers him as a "dear psychedelic renegade", which is the title that Mick Rock gave to his book of photos on Syd Barrett. Beyond being the man who photographed the 1970s, Nathalie Rock remembers him as "a photographic poet, a true force of nature who spent his days doing exactly what he loved, always in his deliciously outrageous way."
His most memorable shots were directed at David Bowie, Iggy Pop, the Ramones, Queen or Lou Red. He has died at the age of 72, without his causes being revealed. Rock was born in London in 1948 and studied Medieval and Modern Languages at Cambridge University. It was in that university city where he began to photograph the local scene and from there he built a personal career, intimately close to the rock, punk and glam stars that he photographed.
