The grancanarian composer Laura Vega gives the first talk as a guest artist of the tutorial program of support in the realization of projects taught by the photographer Tomás Correa in Gran Canaria Espacio Digital, located on Calle Cádiz, number 34, in the capital Schamann neighborhood . The meeting will take place this afternoon, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, within the framework of the initiative that will run until June in the aforementioned center attached to the Ministry of Culture of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria.
In this meeting with Vega, whose catalog has more than 50 works, the artist starts from the premise of understanding photography as a language and as a means of expression. The speaker will relate photography with the idea of rhythm, perfectly applicable to the field of photographic series creation.
In addition to Vega, Correa has invited two other creators who will participate in future encounters: the architect David Martín (April 23) and the writer Santiago Gil (June 25th). The objective is to demonstrate that other forms of artistic expression such as literature, music and architecture have the same pulse as the processes that come together in photography.
Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 1978, Vega has been a professor at the Department of Composition at the Conservatory of Music of the Canary Islands and since 2011 is a Numerary Academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.
