The restoration division of the Mabel Capital group, in which the entrepreneurs Abel Matutes and Manuel Campos have as partners the singer Enrique Iglesias and the sportsmen Rafa Nadal, Pau Gasol and Cristiano Ronaldo, take the international leap with the opening in London of Zela.
Under the gastronomic direction of Ricardo Sanz, from the Kabuki group, Zela premiered in Ibiza in 2017 with a "meppon" cuisine proposal, a fusion of Mediterranean products with Japanese techniques that will also be offered at the London venue, located in the hotel Five stars ME London by Meliá.
Scallops with Ibizan sobrasada, nigiri of butter fish with truffle, usuzukuri toro pa amb tomaquet and in edamame with sichimi salmorejo are some of the dishes of a letter in which the elaborations of raw fish have a great role, reported today by the group in a note.
In the liquid section you bet on Spanish wines, as well as a selection of sakes and cocktails with Asian and Mediterranean ingredients.
The decoration has been carried out by Studio Gronda, who has chosen Indochinese references – Zela is the name of a butterfly endemic to that country – and a predominance of natural elements.
The Mabel Capital group already has Tatel restaurants in Madrid, Ibiza, Miami and, soon, in Beverly Hills (Los Angeles, United States) and Zela, in Ibiza and London.
