MásMóvil challenges the large electricity distributors and presents "EnergyGo"

Telephone operators in Spain continue to expand their services and enter new market niches (alarms, autonomous vehicles, energy, banking ...), in the heat of the deployment of 5G technology. Among the most active in recent weeks, MásMóvil, which days after announcing a commercial alliance with El Corte Inglés to market various products such as state-of-the-art alarms between now and the end of the year, has presented this Monday "EnergyGo". It is a new 100% clean energy service for Yoigo customers, which is available from today and for which it will have as an energy partner with the Spanish company Lucera.

"EnergyGo" was born following in the footsteps of Pepephone Energy, which currently has some 34,000 clients and aspires, in the words of the general director of New Businesses of MásMóvil Alberto Galaso, to be "number one among the new market agents" and does not rule out fishing among the customers of the big five electricity companies that control 90% of the electricity distribution market. In other words, the operator aspires to become the sixth distributor in Spain. «There will be no channeling risks »between EnergyGO and Pepephone Energy"Added Galaso, who points out that both services will be unified in the medium term.

Along these lines, this new service will offer 100% green energy for a monthly fee of 6 euros, which Yoigo customers will save. That is, the latter group would only pay for the energy consumed. A fee that includes technology and energy management services for offer savings recommendations, since those who contract this service will have an app and a website available where they can check their bills, control their energy consumption and receive personalized advice to save on their bill. From MásMóvil they have estimated that "EnergyGo" can mean for Yoigo customers a Savings of around 20% on your bill, about 120 euros per year.

Specifically, the offer is organized around three different rates: "Same price all day", «Dtime discrimination » with a much cheaper section at night and first thing in the morning, as well as «Electric car rate», with a much cheaper night section. All these rates will be available not only for individuals or for the self-employed and SMEs with powers of up to 15 kW.

In any case, the CEO of MásMóvil Meinrad Spenger pointed out that the objective is to provide "the best experience of core customers" and Galaso highlighted that "Loyalty rates are higher when they are signed up for an electrical service". In this sense, the head of New Businesses of the fourth Spanish operator has highlighted that both the app and the web through Big Data are adapting their recommendations to consumer habits and can recommend changing the rate if it is better adapted to your needs.

In this sense, the top executive of MásMóvil explained that of the 29 million households Spaniards with electricity only three million have changed and that this market is covered by 90% by five large groups. A customer base that Yoigo's new proposal looks at.
