The president of the PP, Pablo Casado, has claimed on Friday that “arrive as soon as possible” to Vega Baja the aid to those affected by the DANA that left this Alicante region flooded, “because there are people who have not received what was promised or could not back home”.
Casado has made these statements during his visit to Almoradí, to some of the areas affected by the cold drop, such as the environment of the river, where he has been accompanied, among others, by the leader of the popular Valencians, Isabel Bonig; the president of the Diputación de Alicante, Carlos Mazón, or the mayor, María Gómez.
“Three months ago I was in Vega Baja and I said that we were all in this together. It has been three months and come to this land and keep seeing this desolation we have to put all politicians to work,” Casado said in reference to affected cars still on farms or neighbors who have not received aid.
In this regard, he insisted on the need to build the relevant infrastructure to “mitigate the effects of meteorological catastrophes, which cannot be foreseen”.
“Here – it has continued – there has been a deficit in the construction or maintenance of the infrastructures. In fact, the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS) has not done what it had to do to avoid clogging some infrastructures that caused the channels of river will overflow with catastrophic consequences. “
For all these reasons, he has claimed that “aid as soon as possible” arrives for those affected, “especially those who do not have insurance, who are outside the consortium”, who have been asked to rely on city councils and councils.
“The situation here is dramatic for many families and they cannot wait another day,” said the president of the popular, who has accused the central government of being on vacation.
For its part, the leader of the party in the Valencian Community has criticized the regional government, headed by the socialist Ximo Puig, who, in his words, “has not fulfilled one of his promises three months after the cold drop.”
“A lot of announcement and little management by the Valencian Government,” said Bonig, who recalled that on December 3 “farmers complained that they had not received the aid.”
He has recognized the work of the mayor of the town, the popular María Gómez, who managed an agreement with the SAREB (Asset Management Company from the Bank Restructuring) to “achieve temporary housing and provide immediate response to a problem they had the neighbors of Almoradí “.
After his visit to Almoradí, the national president of the PP has traveled to Callosa de Segura to learn about, among other things, the damage caused by DANA in walls and homes of the old town.
