The president of the PP, Pablo Casado, has appealed to recover the state competence over the Catalan prisons and has defined them as "prisons on demand", typical of "dictatorships and narco-states".
This has been defended in an interview of Es Radio, collected by Europa Press, after being asked about the alleged treatment of favor that the sovereignists are receiving prisoner in the Barcelonan prison of Lledoners.
The leader of the PP has also warned that if he reached the Presidency of the Government, he would recover the application of article 155 of the Constitution in this community "very fast". Of course, "learning from the mistakes" that, according to him, were committed in his previous job.
In this way, he regretted that the Government of Mariano Rajoy used only 155 to call elections "by Citizens (Cs) demand" and that during its validity, "due to the PSOE's demand, this constitutional provision did not affect the Mossos d'Esquadra or TV3.
THE IBARRETXE PLAN IS PREVIOUS
It has called the situation in Catalonia a "national emergency", and has also defended the reincorporation of the criminal code for the classification of the illegal convocation of a referendum. In this sense, he pointed out that the existence of this criminal type "prevented" the "exlehendakari" Juan José Ibarretxe "not to end up as the 'procés'".
He has also reiterated the commitment of the 'popular' to change the law of pardons and include the exclusion of the crimes of sedition and rebellion, and has claimed that the territorial crisis of Catalonia increasingly resembles that experienced with the 'kale' borroka 'in the Basque Country. "How can children be allowed to wear banners from Visca Terra Lliure", he asked himself, and he has opted to outlaw the parties "that heat the violence".
Casado has acknowledged that perhaps it was explained badly in the matter of yellow ties and has qualified that he did not criticize the president of Cs, Albert Rivera, or the leader of the opposition in Catalonia, Inés Arrimadas, for withdrawing them. As he explained, this position seems good, but it is something that should remain in the hands of the institutions without "instigating Catalan society" to do so, because it can give "a situation of confrontation that comes to blows".
CONCURRENCE IN SOLITARIO IN BARCELONA
Finally, he referred to the municipal elections that will take place in Catalonia – and in the rest of the country – in May 2019, and has ensured that the PP has "a space" to present on their own.
Therefore, has justified that the PP does not join the list of the candidate for the Mayor of Barcelona Manuel Valls because he has not asked them to join it and, moreover, "has said he is socialist and left."
