Mark Knopfler has announced this Monday a new world tour with his band for 2019. Down The Road Wherever will have its starting point in Barcelona in April and will continue throughout Europe, ending in Verona in July, before making the leap to the United States.
In Spain he will play on April 25 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona, on the 26th at the Plaza de Toros in Valencia, on the 28th at the WiZink Center in Madrid, on April 29 at the Bullring in Córdoba, on the 3rd of May at the Coliseum of A Coruña and on May 5 at Navarra Arena in Pamplona.
Tickets for the Mark Knopfler tour in Spain can be purchased from 10 am on November 6, through doctormusic.com and riffmusic.es. Also through entradas.com for concerts in Barcelona, Madrid and Pamplona. In Ticketmaster for Valencia, Córdoba and A Coruña. And in Ticketea also for the concert of A Coruña. The price of tickets will range between 40 and 105 euros (distribution costs not included).
Down The Road Wherever, the ninth studio album by Knopfler will be released on November 16th.
Knopfler will perform on this tour with an extended band of ten members, most of whom have been working with him for more than two decades: Guy Fletcher (keyboards), Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano), Mike McGoldrick (flute), John McCusker (violin and cyster), Glenn Worf (bass), Danny Cummings (percussion) and Ian Thomas (drums). The new additions will be Graeme Blebins (saxophone) and Tom Walsh (trumpet).
