"Mark Knopfler, who will release his ninth studio album under the title Down The Road Wherever on November 16, has always seen the tour as an integral part of the album release process, moving from composition to recording and ending with the road, playing its usual successes and its new themes, "says the statement sent to Europa Press.
Knopfler will perform on this tour with an extended band of ten members, most of whom have been working with him for more than two decades: Guy Fletcher (keyboards), Richard Bennett (guitar), Jim Cox (piano), Mike McGoldrick (flute), John McCusker (violin and cyster), Glenn Worf (bass), Danny Cummings (percussion) and Ian Thomas (drums).
The new additions will be Graeme Blebins (saxophone) and Tom Walsh (trumpet). On this tour, we will see Mark Knopfler and his band play a selection of new songs, combined with some of the most well-known and essential songs in their catalog and some surprise recovered from the most remote corners of their repertoire.
