As explained to Europa Press from the Ministry led by Ángel Garrido, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, they contacted yesterday afternoon with the main associations in the taxi sector, the Free Now platform, as well as with Uber and Cabify ( and employers Unauto) to explore this possibility.
Specifically, the objective is to promote that there is at least one taxi or VTC vehicle in each of the more than 300 health centers in the Community of Madrid in order to carry out transfers of health personnel who have to travel to assist patients in their home, a key aspect of protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
From the department that Garrido directs, they have thanked both sectors for their predisposition to collaborate in the displacement of health center workers in the current health crisis.
On the part of the taxi drivers, they have already begun to organize themselves to respond to the request of the Ministry of Transport to help in the transfer of health personnel to their workplaces due to the situation caused by the new coronavirus.
In a statement, the Taxi Guild Association has transmitted to its partners the request made after the announcement of the declaration of a state of alarm by the Government that is expected to last for the next 15 days.
To do this, it has requested that those interested in collaborating contact the Radio Taxi Gremial headquarters at 91.4473232 or by writing to email ([email protected]). Likewise, from Radioteléfono Taxi they have asked for volunteers “with real spirit to help, even on days off” to provide this service.
“Due to the saturation of the health system, they ask us for help to be able to transfer doctors to home visits and / or transfers of doctors, nurses or any other health personnel between health centers.” In this sense, they indicate that they go to Calle Cidro in Madrid the same night this Friday or communicate their availability in the email [email protected]
