Madrid limits today to 70 km / h speed in M-30 and access by high pollution

The City Council of Madrid has activated this morning the anti-pollution protocol for nitrogen dioxide, so the speed of traffic on the M-30 and on the access roads inside the M-40 is limited to 70 kilometers per hour from 6 o'clock in the morning today, Tuesday 25, Christmas day.

According to Efe sources of the City Council, the scenario 1 antipollution is activated this Tuesday to exceed the levels of notice in zone 1 and being the unfavorable weather forecast.

The City Council of Madrid, which recommends the use of public transport, reminds that this new protocol will be valid for the duration of the pollution episode and will give way to the activation of the successive traffic restriction measures included in it, if the exceedances are maintained or increased and if the weather conditions remain unfavorable.

Also, the Consistory indicates that tomorrow Tuesday, before 12:00 noon, the measures to be applied will be announced on Wednesday, December 26.

As a novelty in this case and the possibility that this Wednesday 26 was necessary to activate scenario 2 antipollution, the City Council will apply the exception in the protocol to facilitate the displacements of these dates keeping only scenario 1.

Citizens will be informed of traffic restrictions through the municipal website, traffic information panels and DGT, CRTM / EMT, traffic office, Emergencies Madrid, website and social networks, as indicated by the Town hall.
