Maria Lluïsa Martínez Gistau has been proclaimed president of Dircom Catalunya four more years during the Electoral Assembly that the Association of Communication Managers held this afternoon at the headquarters of Foment of the National Treball. The members of Dircom have ratified the only candidature presented to the Board of Directors 2020-2024, and thus revalidate the position that it combines with the Executive Directorate of Communication, Institutional Relations, Brand and CSR of CaixaBank.

During his speech, Martínez has highlighted the paradigm shift that the communication sector has experienced due to the “irruption of new technologies” and the passage “from an analogue to a digital world”, and it has been proposed to strengthen the role of this association in Catalonia and “to value the role of communicators, often very complex and not always sufficiently recognized.”
The president of Foment del Treball Nacional, Josep Sánchez Llibre, has starred in the closing of the Electoral Assembly. Among other things, he said that “communication, if honest, contributes to add value to a brand, generates benefits and slows reputational crises.” He adds that “even in times of fake news, the communication function acquires more value ”.
The growth of Dircom Catalunya
Martínez Gistau is president of this entity since 2016, at which time he experienced substantial growth. It has passed from 130 partners to the 200, all managers and professionals of the main companies and institutions, a leap that represents the 20% of partners from all over Spain. This represents a quantitative and qualitative leap, which places the association at the forefront of the territorial Dircom.
The objective of Dircom Catalunya is to value the role of the Director of Communication, so that it is considered as a strategic figure. To achieve these objectives, we work from four strategic axes: training and knowledge, recognition,
Y responsible management.
