The singer Luz Casal ends her solidarity initiative that has consisted of speaking on the phone with anyone who asked for it, after making more than 2,000 calls during sixty days.
On May 25 this action ends that Luz Casal had announced on her Instagram account to offer two hours of her daily time, between 18:00 and 19:55, to make phone company to people who were alone in confinement.
The response was “overwhelming”, with thousands of requests and “a surprising echo from the media” that has crossed borders, the singer stressed in a statement.
In this line, he indicates that he spoke with people from Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Cyprus, Greece, Canada, the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, Turkey, England and Ireland.
“At the beginning of the confinement I thought that I should help directly and intimately those people who, finding themselves isolated, sick or desperate, wanted to talk to me,” highlights the artist.
In this sense, he points out that “he never” imagined that “something as simple as spending a few minutes a day listening would produce so much encouragement and relief for people.”
“Each of those conversations has given me a life lesson,” he says.
